AASHTO M 180 also referred as highway guard rail, is a facility safety guardrail for keeping people or vehicles away from straying into dangerous or off limited areas.
The material of highway guardrail is carbon steel, such as Q235, Q345 (s235jr, s355jr). The type of steel is strong enough for setting outdoor many years, and easy for welding while guardrail installing.
The surface treatments of highway guard rail have two kinds nowadays. This is key technology for corrosion resistant guard rail. It will effect to the life time of guard rail. One is hot dip galvanized, another one is powder coating (also called plastic spray).
